Ali Haider Zaidi is a Pakistani American online entrepreneur. He was born in Karachi, Pakistan and educated in Skokie, Illinois. Zaidi founded the website Pakmanzil.com, which covers gossip items about musicians, actors and celebrities.
Early life and career
Zaidi attended Niles West High School in Skokie, Illinois. He is one of pioneer music bloggers from Pakistan. He owns the Pakistani music website Pakmanzil.com, along with a Hollywood entertainment website Pink Magazine.
The Daily Herald writes Ali saying, "There are many misconceptions about his home country. Pakistani's listen to western style music, they wear jeans & t-shirts and they love Hollywood films. By promoting similarities between Pakistan and other countries—and trying to understand and acknowledge the cause of deeper tensions—there's hope for peace and collaboration, Ali believes.
Zaidi is also a former radio disc jockey & has hosted shows on various FM stations in the United States. He primarily known to be one of the pioneer music bloggers in Pakistan, and is often called and known as the Ryan Seacrest of Pakistan by his listeners and fans.
In Elections 2013, Zaidi was PTI candidate from NA-252 (Karachi) and NA 208 Jacobabad. Earlier in 2002 Elections he also contested for Sindh Provincial assembly seat Karachi PS 116. Zaidi was inducted in the Central Executive Committee of PTI in 2003.
In 2005, Zaidi was appointed International Coordinator of PTI. In this capacity, he set up the international membership campaign of the party throughout the countries where Pakistani diaspora lives.
In 2014, Zaidi was tasked with fundraising for PTI's Azadi Movement.
Imran Khan Foundation
On Oct 2005, Zaidi became the Founding President of the Imran Khan Foundation - a philanthropic organization headed by Imran Khan. The foundation has also been extremely active in providing relief to the deprived especially in the time of natural disasters.
