ISLAMABAD: Defence Minister Khawaja Asif and army chief Gen Raheel Sharif had separate meetings with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
According to Online they discussed developments in the treason trial of former president Pervez Musharraf and his health. The army chief apprised the premier of the decisions taken at the corps commanders meeting.
Our correspondent adds: In his meeting with the PM, Kh Asif, who is also Minister for Water and Power, apprised the prime minister about present state of power production in the country. He also briefed him about the current power loadshedding and the steps being taken to overcome power crisis.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan cannot have bullet trains, even though this was one of the ruling party?s election promises, Khawaja Saad Rafique told the National Assembly on Tuesday.
?When we asked the Chinese about it, they laughed at us. We should consider the 160kmph train under CPEC as a bullet train. We can?t afford an actual bullet train, there?s no market for it,? the railway minister said.

The Russian foreign ministry on Tuesday rubbished Pakistani media reports about 'secret negotiations' between the two countries regarding cooperation on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Reports circulating last week claimed that the Russian spy chief had made a visit to Pakistan in order to inspect the Gwadar port.
The reports alleged that Pakistan had formally authorised Russia to join the $46bn CPEC after the head of Russian intelligence requested to join the project.
