No need to dissolve ECP: Fakhruddin G Ebrahim
CEC Fakhruddin G Ebrahim stated, “Our appointment was done within legal boundaries. Government is six weeks away from completing tenure and should be allowed to do so. Also criticism is unacceptable as we have addressed issues like dual nationality, tax issues and fake degrees of candidates participating in elections.” Earlier, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and Minhajul Quran International (MQI) chief Tahirul Qadri had come together and expressed their lack of confidence on the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). Qadri had reservations regarding the legality of the commission and filed a petition in the Supreme Court for its reconstitution.
